# Email Not Working? Set Up Mailbox & Check MX Record

Set up email mailbox and check MX/SPF when mail doesn't arrive – webspace guide with DNS links.

**Quick answer:** Email with your own domain often fails due to missing **MX, SPF or DKIM records**. DNS must be correct before Plesk mail works reliably.

This guide shows you how to create email accounts in Plesk and set them up in your email program or smartphone.

## Step 1: Create email account in Plesk

    - Log in to Plesk
- Click **Mail** in the left menu
- Click **Create Email Address**
- Fill in the fields:
        
            - **Email address:** e.g. `info` (the part before the @)
- **Password:** Set a secure password
- **Mailbox size:** Default is usually unlimited or 5 GB

    
- Click **OK**

## Step 2: Use webmail

You can read your emails directly in the browser – without installing any program:

    - Go to `https://webmail.yourdomain.com`
- Log in with your full email address and password
- You'll see your inbox immediately

## Step 3: Set up in email programs

For Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail or your smartphone, you need these server details:

    - **IMAP server (incoming):** `mail.yourdomain.com` – Port 993 (SSL)
- **SMTP server (outgoing):** `mail.yourdomain.com` – Port 465 (SSL)
- **Username:** Your full email address
- **Password:** Your email password

## Step 4: Set up email forwarding (optional)

    - Click on the created email address in Plesk
- Go to the **Forwarding** tab
- Enable forwarding and enter a destination address
- Click **OK**
