Minecraft Server Lagging – TPS, RAM, Plugins & View Distance

Quick answer: Minecraft lag comes from high view distance, too many entities, bad plugins or low RAM. Check TPS with /tps – target: 20.

If you landed here: Block breaking delayed, mobs stutter, redstone lags or /tps shows below 18.

Quick fixes

1. view-distance=10 in server.properties
2. Disable plugins – which causes lag? (/spark profiler)
3. Reduce item frames, animals, dropped items in farms
4. Check RAM in panel – upgrade at 100%
5. Switch vanilla → Paper
