Email Not Working? Set Up Mailbox & Check MX Record

This guide shows you how to create email accounts in Plesk and set them up in your email program or smartphone.

Step 1: Create email account in Plesk

1. Log in to Plesk
2. Click Mail in the left menu
3. Click Create Email Address
4. Fill in the fields:
   • Email address: e.g. info (the part before the @)
   • Password: Set a secure password
   • Mailbox size: Default is usually unlimited or 5 GB
5. Click OK

Step 2: Use webmail

You can read your emails directly in the browser – without installing any program:

1. Go to https://webmail.yourdomain.com
2. Log in with your full email address and password
3. You'll see your inbox immediately

Step 3: Set up in email programs

For Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail or your smartphone, you need these server details:

• IMAP server (incoming): mail.yourdomain.com – Port 993 (SSL)
• SMTP server (outgoing): mail.yourdomain.com – Port 465 (SSL)
• Username: Your full email address
• Password: Your email password

Step 4: Set up email forwarding (optional)

1. Click on the created email address in Plesk
2. Go to the Forwarding tab
3. Enable forwarding and enter a destination address
4. Click OK
